Feminist Pedagogy Matters

Feminist Pedagogy in Action!

Feminist Pedagogy takes many forms.   This space is dedicated for sharing examples (our own or others) of feminist pedagogy in action!  Our voices and our experiences can be the most important feminist pedagogy resources.  I’ll soon post ways I exhibit feminist pedagogy in the undergraduate classroom, and hope to hear about your experiences as well!

One response to “Feminist Pedagogy in Action!

  1. I teach four sections of Introduction to Sociology. Each class consists of forty students. The numbers are large, but I’m committed to the practice of Critical Feminist Pedagogy and so, I aim to create spaces for reflection, dialogue, and action. Recently, when on the topic of racial and ethnic inequalities, I carved out time in each class for dialogue circles. The response has been amazing. Students crave the opportunity to voice their experiences and to listen to the multiplicity of experiences in the lives of their peers. Are there other faculty who teach large lecture classes that use this type of pedagogy and find it useful? If so, please share your experiences!
